This simple nourish bowl is packed with nutrient-dense ingredients that work beautifully together. Sardines provide high-quality protein and omega-3 fats, quinoa adds fiber and slow-release carbohydrates, while Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, and sauerkraut bring freshness, texture, and gut-supporting benefits. It's the kind of balanced meal that keeps you satisfied without feeling overly full, perfect for a semaglutide-friendly lunch or dinner.
This bowl combines protein, fiber, healthy fats, and fermented foods in a balanced meal that helps you feel satisfied for longer. The sardines and quinoa support stable energy and muscle maintenance, while the Brussels sprouts and sauerkraut contribute fiber and digestive support. Because it is nutrient-dense rather than calorie-dense, it provides plenty of nourishment without requiring a large portion size.
Ingredients:
1 tin sardines in olive oil
½ cup cooked quinoa
10 Brussels sprouts, shredded
1 tsp olive oil (optional, for cooking)
1 handful cherry tomatoes, halved
¼ cup raw sauerkraut
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of olive oil if desired. You can also use avocado oil or coconut oil.
Add the shredded Brussels sprouts and cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly caramelized around the edges.
Warm the cooked quinoa if desired.
Arrange the quinoa, Brussels sprouts, cherry tomatoes, and sauerkraut in a bowl.
Add the sardines and gently break them into bite-sized pieces.
Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Serve immediately.
Wellness Tip:
Sardines are one of the most nutrient-dense foods you can add to your diet. They provide protein, omega-3 fats, calcium, vitamin D, and vitamin B12 in a small serving. Combined with fiber-rich quinoa, Brussels sprouts, and probiotic-rich sauerkraut, this bowl supports satiety, digestion, gut health, and steady energy levels, all important factors when following a GLP-1 lifestyle.
